String Beans

String beans with tomato sauce

Ingredients

(4 persons)

  • 800 g beans without strings
  • 60 g sweet butter
  • 500 g fresh roma tomatos
  • 1 piece of onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • sage leaves
  • vegetable broth
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  • Trim the beans and wash them
  • Cook them half way in boiling salted water in an uncoverd pot
  • Drain
  • Dip the tomatos for a few minutes in boiling water and peel them; remove the seeds and drain
  • Dice the tomatos
  • In the butter, golden the onion and the sage leaves with the garlic, which them you remove
  • Add the beans and let them soak up the aroma
  • Add the tomatos, salt, and pepper
  • Boil on low heat for about half an hour, adding broth when necessary
